Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) branch has debunked the purported resumption of academic activities and supervision of the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) in the Faculty of Agriculture.
The chairman of ASUU, University of Abuja branch, Dr Kassim Umaru, while reacting in an online report, published by one Dr Grace Oyiza Anibasa said the branch is actively involved in the 12-week rollover strike as directed by the National Executive Council (NEC).
He said, “For the avoidance of doubt, ASUU-UNIABUJA is still on strike and the strike is total and comprehensive. Our members shall not involve in anything like teaching or supervision.
“Consequently, the public and students should take note and ignore such fake news.
Our members are resolute and committed to the strike and for the avoidance of doubt, ASUU University of Abuja is still on strike and shall never attend to anybody either by teaching or supervision of students or any statutory meeting,” he added.
