Following the directives of the Ministry of Tertiary Education and the Governing Council of Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin I hereby announce immediate closure of all academic activities in the College till further notice.
The decision is sequel to the unruly behaviour of the students that led to the vandilisation of some Government and individual properties. The said dastardly acts of the students were demonstrated in the presence of the Honourable Commissioner of Tertiary Education (Dr. Afees Abolore ALABI) when he visited the college to address minor internal crises rocking the college which has nothing to do with the State Government. Sadly, some students who are yet to pay their school fees and those with ulterior motives took the advantage to disrupt the ongoing second semester of the college.
It is on record that the college is being subvented by the State Government but the school requires further bailout inform of loan from the Government with the understanding that it will be repaid upon full payments of school fees by the students.
It is important to note that the kind consideration of this request was granted and assurances was given to the management, staff and students by His Excellency Mall. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq when he also visited the college less than a week ago.
Parents and guardians are hereby urged to advise their children and wards to avoid all acts that can lead to further breach of peace in the College and its environs.
Consequently, all students are to vacate the College with immediate effect.
Signed
Dr. Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla
Acting Provost.
