Associate Professor at the Department of Accounting, University of Ilorin, Khadijat Adenola Yahaya, and three other distinguished staff members of the University have bagged the Fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA).
The conferment of the Fellowship was the highlight of the well-attended 20th Fellowship award ceremony of the Institute, which held in Lagos on Wednesday, April 20,2022.
The other Unilorites are
Mr Murtala Mohammed Ibrahim and
Mrs. Omeiza Omolola Bello of the Bursary Department as well as Dr. Temitope
Olamide Famigbele of the Department of Accounting.
Dr. Yahaya, who is a former Head, Department of Accounting, University of Ilorin, and her three Colleagues were among the 1496 professional accountants from all over Nigeria who were conferred with the prestigious awards, having passed prescribed examinations and other forms of professional evaluations.
Speaking at the event, the National President of the Institute, Mrs. Comfort Olu Eyitayo, reminded all the awardees of the need to always ensure transparency, accountability and integrity in everything they do, particularly at their various places of work.
The ICAN President also urged them to always abide by the ethics of the accounting profession as she expressed her conviction that the award would serve as a motivation for better performances in their individual endeavours.

BULLETIN shortly after the award, Dr. Yahaya expressed gratitude to the authorities of the University for the opportunity provided her and her colleagues to engage in professional development programmes, which
eventuated in the conferment of the prestigious award.
The renowned academic assured that they would continue to use their new status towards the deepening of the greatness of the University of Ilorin through more qualitative service delivery in their various spheres of responsibilities and serving as role models to others, particularly staff and students of the
University.
