Information reaching LEGITSCHOOLGIST has it that the National Universities Commission, NUC has
directed the closure of all universities between
February 22nd to March 14th, 2023 due to the
upcoming general elections.
This was contained in a copy of memo directed to all
Vice-Chancellors and made available to one of our
correspondents.
This memo reads:
MINISTERIAL DIRECTIVE ON THE CLOSURE OF ALL
UNIVERSITIES AND INTER UNIVERSITY CENTRES
DURING THE UPCOMING 2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS
As Vice-Chancellors of all Universities and Directors
Chief Executive of liter University Comey are quite
aware, the 2023 General Elections have been
scheduled to hold on Sunday 25 February 2023, for
the Presidencial and National Assembly, and
Saturday 11 Mars 2023 for Gabematerial and Stane
Assembly, rnpectively.
In view of the folgsing and concerts expressed on the security of statt, students and properties of the our respective instinations, the Honourable Minister of Education, Mat Adama Adamu has following extensive coomilanions with the relevant secility agencies, directed the allUniversities and Inter Univinity Centres be shut downand academic activities be supended between 22 February and 14 March, 2023.
Consequently, Vice-Chancellors, as well as Directors
Chief Executives of inter-university Centres are by
this Circular requested to shut down their respective
istitutions from Wednesday 22 February 2023 to
Toesday 14 March 2023
