BSU: Students Affairs Gets New Dean
The Vice-Chancellor, Benue State University, Makurdi, Professor Tor Joe Iorapuu, fsonta, fnipr, ksm has approved the appointment of Dr. Nelson Orkaan Alyebo as Acting Dean of Students. He succeeds Professor Emmanuel Otor Eriba whose second tenure ended March 4, 2024. The appointment is for a duration of two years.
Dr. Alyebo, a Lecturer in the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, Benue State University, until his appointment was the Deputy Dean of Students Affairs.
In a brief hand over today at the Dean’s Office, the outgoing Dean, Professor Eriba appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for granting him the opportunity to serve the University in that capacity and appealed to the staff to extend same cooperation they accorded him to his successor.
On behalf of Staff of the Division, the Students Affairs Officer, Augustina Tolufashe Funmilayo commended the commitment and dedication of the outgoing Dean in ensuring that issues affecting students and staff were treated accordingly. She assured the new Dean of their maximum support to enable him succeed.
Dr. Alyebo expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for finding him worthy of the appointment and thanked the outgoing Dean for his tutelage while he served under him as Deputy. He promised to consolidate on his achievements to take the Division to greater heights.
He also admonished the staff to be committed and dedicated to work in order to actualize the Vision and Mission of the University.
